Pest Control - Mice

Evening all,

Posting as we come to the forum often for recommendations. We did the same when considering who to engage for mouse pest control. As such we are sharing our experience

We had a hideous experience with JG pest control. I saw a mouse and engaged JG Pest Control in Jan 2018 when I saw 6 months pregnant. In short, the promised full survey, trapping and mouse proofing never happened. Traps weren't put down for several visits and only after repeated requests by me. A couple of superficial holes had foam crudely sprayed into them. We continued to have mice for 6 months. As a result of complaining and them acknowledging the service had fallen short we had our 3 month 'guarantee' extended but it made no difference as the technicians were hopeless at managing the problem. Holes weren't spotted, were inadequately filled in and every visit meant another technician spotting another oversight or poor filling work. The reports they filled out were incomplete, staff were rude and dismissive. On one occasion I had to ask the technician to leave and I lodged a formal complaint as he was so aggressive towards me in front of my 18 month old, my friend and her toddler. Eventually, after complaining several times JG refunded me 50% of my costs - but I wasted 7 months dealing with them, not getting rid of the mice and getting incredibly stressed by the whole process. I asked them for their complaints procedure and had this sent to me but they then refused to follow it. I emailed the MD to tell him about our experience with full email correspondence as evidence and he referred me back to the person who had been inadequately dealing with my complaint. All in all a hideous experience, in breach of their agreed service contract. Trading Standards have been made aware.

I have since engaged another firm who resolved the issue in the first visit further demonstrating how utterly useful they are. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

You might like to reference that this is a complaint in your subject header- otherwise it looks to people scrolling through that this is either a recommendation or a question about mice!

So I had a mouse run through my lounge a couple of times last week but I've not seen any sign of him since (he may have been a her)....could you tell us which pest control company did sort your problem out please?

Guys, I had a similar experience with another company that I don't want to name but it's a big company. They claim to be excellent but they wasted three months to get rid of the mice in the house and with no result. They were coming back again and again to place traps and I don't know what and mice kept coming back.

After struggling for so long I called another company. They didn't seem very reliable at first, but they also gave me a much cheaper quote for the first mice treatment than the first company. The guys who came didn't only place traps around the house but also filled some holes that the mice were coming in from, which the guys from the first company didn't do. It took them 3 visits to fully eradicate the mice from the house and it's been one month since their last visit, I haven't seen a single mouse! I really hope this was the end of the mice invasion.

They don't seem like a huge company but have some nice reviews on Google, and I recommend them as well. This is the company https://www.pantherpestcontrol.co.uk/

    • It worked. Corbyn did similar although not to the same degree. Momentum had a purge too when Corbyn got in. All his political life he opposed the EU but when it came to the crunch he publicly backed them during the referendum. I believe that was to appease the middle classes that he was appealing to. He messed up big time when wooing the middle classes at Glastonbury whilst ignoring his core working class voters up north. They also happened to be leave voters. He got starstruck and forgot about his politics. Corbynmania was thing, a movement but it was also the making of his downfall. For the many and not the few came back and slapped him right in the face.
    • Nothing to do with the tories overspending whatsoever eh! Blame the last 10/11 years of blatant mismanagement, incompetence and willful deceit on the poor bastards that were left with the fall out of a complete car crash tory government.   One PM after another falling on their sword. Open corruption and piss taking throughout covid and a legacy of huge debt and destruction yet in your view it will be labour's 4 years in power that bankrupts us in 2029.  Another one that must think people are blind and stupid.  Rejoice rejoice. It's a pity he and his fellow clowns were completely annihilated at the ballot box. I mean they were doing so well after all 🙃🙃
    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
