Hello, we are a fun loving, active family of 4 who have had the most wonderful au pair experience. She leaves us to return to France at the end of May. We would love to find another au pair, however we are also open to finding someone who can help min 3 days a week after school and ideally a couple of mornings 7-9 for school run etc. This may suit a local student? Can anyone recommend an interior architect / kitchen designer who will help with advising on configurations and clever ways to plan the space on our ground floor? We are considering reconfiguring the space and would appreciate expert guidance. Thanks in advance

Anyone else as devastated as us? Great coffee, brunch, pasta and super welcoming for families - ideal given their location next to the playground. We come in several times a week and will be so sad to see it go. Surely not just us?

Evening all, Posting as we come to the forum often for recommendations. We did the same when considering who to engage for mouse pest control. As such we are sharing our experience We had a hideous experience with JG pest control. I saw a mouse and engaged JG Pest Control in Jan 2018 when I saw 6 months pregnant. In short, the promised full survey, trapping and mouse proofing never happened. Traps weren't put down for several visits and only after repeated requests by me. A couple of superficial holes had foam crudely sprayed into them. We continued to have mice for 6 months. As a result of complaining and them acknowledging the service had fallen short we had our 3 month 'guarantee' extended but it made no difference as the technicians were hopeless at managing the problem. Holes weren't spotted, were inadequately filled in and every visit meant another technician spotting another oversight or poor filling work. The reports they filled out were incomplete, staff were rude and dismissive. On one occasion I had to ask the technician to leave and I lodged a formal complaint as he was so aggressive towards me in front of my 18 month old, my friend and her toddler. Eventually, after complaining several times JG refunded me 50% of my costs - but I wasted 7 months dealing with them, not getting rid of the mice and getting incredibly stressed by the whole process. I asked them for their complaints procedure and had this sent to me but they then refused to follow it. I emailed the MD to tell him about our experience with full email correspondence as evidence and he referred me back to the person who had been inadequately dealing with my complaint. All in all a hideous experience, in breach of their agreed service contract. Trading Standards have been made aware. I have since engaged another firm who resolved the issue in the first visit further demonstrating how utterly useful they are. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

I need to get my child vaccinated against TB and will need to do this privately. Can anyone reccomend a good clinic ideally locally but at this stage any reccomendation would be fab. Thank you

Just wanted to reccomend Roberts & Denny?s removals who we recently used to move house locally. We are seriously so impressed. Dave came round to quote initially and he was so helpful including giving us pointers on how best to reduce cost and maximise time efficiency. The quote compared favourably to others I got in. Everyone was so so nice to deal with. On the day of the move the team arrived promptly and had such an enthusiastic approach taking pride in their work. It made such a difference. We thoroughly reccomend them and wouldn?t hesitate to use them again. PM if you want to ask us anything about the service. They did such a great job we have to give them our support!

We?ve had mice coming into our house since January when I engaged JG pest control services at a cost of several hundred pounds as I have a small child and was heavily pregnant. Despite 12+ visits in which blocking work was promised and evidently not done properly (they have been a total joke) they haven?t solved the problem and tonight I saw a mouse and my anxiety has gone through the roof. Please please share details of who you have used who has solved the problem for you. I?m desperate to get this resolved. Husband is allergic to cats so we can?t sadly get one. Many thanks in advance

We need new garden doors fitted and don?t know where to start. Would need to be bifold or French style (middle opening) as opposed to sliding doors. We have previously had issues with a company we used so we are keen to go with a reputable firm and get something that?s good quality. Many thanks in advance!

We are now looking into blinds / window tints / any other solition to deflect the sun from the glass. Has anyone else on here had a similar issue and found a solution? Many thanks in advance!

Huge recommendation for Louisa at goose green. I had severe pgp with my first pregnancy and couldn?t walk by 30 weeks. Second pregnancy I saw her every couple of weeks from 6 weeks and I was a different person. It was incredible. I was in way better shape that I was during pregnancy 1 or post Nat ally after baby 1. She?s really knowledgeable and has a knack for figuring out where any stresses lie. I felt immediately better after each session and had the Condition well under control. Honestly it was life changing.

If it helps we did NCT nad hypnobirthing first time round. Found NCT a waste of time. It?s ok if you have a group you he?ll with otherwise it?s all pregnancy based and not all that different to what a google will tell you. Hypnobirthing was amazing birth prep. For the social side of things, pregnancy yoga was amazing. Met some wonderful ladies and their partners who have become great friends and allies in the parenthood journey.
