Today I noticed a bubble like blister on my 1 month old's lower left gum. I had been worrying that when he is a bit tired and has been feeding a lot he seems to have difficulty opening wide to latch on the right breast and doesn't suck so hard. Maybe this explains that.

I wonder if anyone has any tips for soothing his gum please, or any other ideas.

Thank you.

Show it to the hv or if it's worrying you, see the gp?

Lots of bsbies prefer feeding on

One side only though

Might be worth trying the 'rugby ball' hold or feeding lying down (with a flat pillow it's often possible to feed from

Both breasts while lying on the same side!)

I agree with Fuschia, if the baby has a weird or odd latch on the breast it could cause a blister from rubbing too much. You could try to encourage them to feed from the other side or in different positions. Would show your GP and perhaps ask if you could use something topical (like Bonjela) to sooth it so they can feed without discomfort.

One of mine had this when they were feeding from one side and it was in the middle of their top lip, but didn't last very long.

    • Real shame they went under. We have a rectangular table (that we are keeping) which is great. I would set some ebay search alerts if you haven't done so already.

    • If this is approved BT will probably apply to remove the phone box. These cost far more than they earn and are very vulnerable to vandelism. The old phone boxes are not ideal to become WiFi hubs, and will need the same level of engineering work to convert (they will be connected over copper). And they don't offer the advertising opportunity which pays for the free WiFi.
    • They're big and ugly electronic advertising boards. There's a shagged out phone box across the road that could do the same thing!
