  1. Adding to this - I started training with David in September when I was feeling really low, unfit and unmotivated and I didn't want a "military" type, I wanted someone encouraging and supportive and someone who understood fitness in your 40s which is different to when I was younger. My fitness has totally changed - it's now become a habit that I really enjoy again and that's thanks to David!
  2. Know that David has been recommended on this Forum before, but just wanted to share his details. I started training with David after the first lockdown when I felt really unfit and totally unmotivated. What I like about David is that he's an older trainer, very calm and measured but so supportive. I'm in my mid-40s and needed a trainer who could understand what I needed from my training sessions. It's made such a difference to my mental and physical health. Training is very covid secure. [email protected] 07886 819934 www.fitfunactive.co.uk/david-wilson
  3. Amazing Sue who used to cut at Myla & Davies in HH and then moved to Willie Smart in CP is doing home cuts for ?45 and she has a colourist who can come at the same time if needed. She is properly fabulous. 07779 272524
  4. We just let out a flat that we own and used Open Rent. It was properly great and cost us ?29 rather than thousands Couldn't recommend highly enough. The clincher for us was estate agents continuing to take fees if tenants re-sign for a second year. https://www.openrent.co.uk/
  5. Lambeth Tigers doing holiday football training in Myatts Field for the next few weeks https://lambeth-tigers-football-club.class4kids.co.uk/
  6. This is a great local football club - really worth getting in your if your children want to do competitive football. Girls teams as well as boys.
  7. Chalkwell Beach in Essex is lovely for swimming, never too crowded and not too far away.
  8. Lumberjacks in Camberwell are also doing a free breakfast and lunch service which they deliver to Kings daily - you can purchase a meal for them to donate here https://shop.wearelumberjack.co.uk/collections/buy-a-meal-for-an-nhs-worker
  9. We have ordered from Smith&Brock in Camberwell who are delivering great fresh fruit and veg or dairy boxes https://www.knock-knock-groceries.com/products/small-premium-seasonal-fruit-veg-box Takes 5-7 days though as they are a bit inundated but the quality is great and the prices reasonable
  10. Mine loved Miguel's. Thursday afternoons for kids.
  11. We wanted a french speaker for our after school care and used Ici Londres https://www.ici-londres.com/annonces which has lots of young french students/20 somethings in London. (they obviously all are here to speak/learn english)
  12. My kids used to LOVE Crafty Cooks http://www.craftycooks.co.uk/ which was by Rosendale Allotments though think the location might have changed now. For kids from 2 years +
  13. I am arranging my son's 10th birthday party and I wondered if any of you had recommendations for local pools that offer this? Thank you!
  14. Writing up a recommendation for SG Soccer School in Brixton https://sgsport.co.uk/sg-soccer-school/ It's invitation only, following a free trial but I know that they are on the look out for more players from U6 - U11 Sessions take place Monday 5pm- 6.30pm at Ferndale Community Sports Centre (behind Morleys) Standard is quite high. Coaching excellent. Contact details on the SG Sport website / [email protected]
  15. Petts Wood v close and perfect for a bluebell walk.
  16. Thought that this might be useful https://www.founders4schools.org.uk/about/
  17. We're at a state school in Brixton and like you free fruit stopped when they moved into juniors, but they are encouraged to bring in a piece of fruit for the mid-morning break.
  18. Not every Sunday, they understand that families have lives outside of football but being in a team and playing competitive matches is really important to the club and actually the boys who seem incredibly proud of their training kit and their match kit and being in a league. Other clubs we looked out kicked out boys if they weren't committed to playing every Sunday which we found fairly tough.
  19. My sons play in with a local team Tulse Hill Juniors. It's an old South London club that stopped for a while and is now rebuilding its squad. They train on Saturdays (10am-12, opposite the cafe in Dulwich Park) and play matches in the Tantridge League on a Sunday morning (their home matches are played on the Dulwich Prep pitches) The club really needs to find more players. Today for example although they fielded 3x teams, the U9s played with 1 less player than their opposition and had no subs. It's a friendly club - both kids and watching parents. https://www.tulsehilljfc.co.uk/ They are also looking for anyone who would like to be part of their coaching team. Email [email protected] for more detail, or just come along on Saturday morning (stud boots, shin pads etc) Thx!
  20. Ours are at CC now. It's a great school. None seem to leave at 7+, although a few moved earlier to avoid the actual 7+ exam and got into Dulwich private schools. At 11+, a good number get into Alleyns, DC, Trinity and others. They have coaching but then even kids at prep schools seem to have coaching too. We are really happy with Corpus - it's an excellent school and hard to get a place at.
