Beckenham Spa have baby gym sessions on a Monday. We used to do the mini-gym sessions which followed on from these classes - from 3 years - and they were run by proper gymnastics coaches. So I suspect the baby gym ones will be decent ones with more focused activities for the kids that can do that i.e. not just baby activities.

Always thought the Tumbletots classes looked great but never managed to get ones that fitted with my work days.

My nearly 3 yr old is the same. Most classes seem to start from 3 apart from TT as mentioned but didn't fit in with my non working days either. There's a drop in trampolining class for 18 mths-4yrs on Saturday mornings at Jags. E loves it. Goes with daddy. Think it's ?5 per class. There are 2 sessions starting at 9.15 and 10.
It might be a bit far away but classes at Ladywell Gymnastics Club based in Bellingham Leisure Centre are fab. The kids use all the equipment, bars, high beam, trampoline, big foam pits etc. In the 2 year old class you attend with them, from 3 they go in on their own. Class is short, only 45 minutes, but if they need to exert any more energy afterwards Rascals is on site, which if you get the leisure centre membership is only ?2.40 entry. You pay for the whole term for the gymnastics class.

Fapl; i saw these classes online, thought they fitted the bill exactly but I have a non mobile baby in tow too, so anything where you have to watch your toddler like a hawk is tricky.

Crystal7; sounds perfect- will send Mr B along with Seb in Jan. Seb got given a trampoline for his birthday by my ILs and LOVES it :)

Hi Ruth, my 3 year old goes to Ladywell and loves it. There are a ton of mums with smaller babes, all staring through the glass at our toddlers who are very well looked after by the teachers - 2 of them) whilst trying to feed/wind - or in my case stop my 20month old knackering vending machines/climbing stairs/legging it out to car park. You will be in good company :) x

I've been looking at different types of gym/dance classes for Little Saff too. We had a taster session with TumbleTots, but frankly I wasn't impressed. Some of the staff were very "pushy", and the fees are not small. We kept getting told off for not using the equipment quite right (it was our first session! ...and only session.) Plus there was a really pointless and totally out of tune sing-a-long waste-of-time bit in the middle of the session, just as my daughter was starting to get the hang of the play equipment. That being said, the time Little Saff did spend actually on the "gymnasticss" equipment was great. There just wasn't enough time on the equipment, and not a fantastically friendly atmosphere, to justify the price IMHO. We'll be sampling other classes in the spring and hoping to find something that works for us. I'd LOVE to hear about what else is out there, and what everyone else's opinion is!! :-)

xx

We go to gymnastics at Beckenham Spa - although as my daughter's older we are in the 3 to 5 year class which is one where parents drop off and wait outside while the class is on (genius! A very relaxing 45 minutes for me!). No direct experience of the classes for younger kids, but based on our excellent experience with the older ones I imagine it would be really good. My daughter's class is run by quite an "old school" gymnastics instructor who is fab with the children who all really love it. They have great equipment and the room it's held in is massive so plenty of room.

Often the equipment from the younger class is still out when we arrive and it looks like lots of fun.

The other option is toddler's world at Crystal Palace, although there are often a lot of babies there, so it could be quite stressful if you're worrying about a rampaging two year old!

There are gym "classes" starting at Crystal Palace for 18mth-3yr olds in the new year, think they'll follow the school term & are ?43 for the term (?10-11wks). hoping to start doing them after Easter as Bugglet's a bit too young at the mo.

From what the lady in toddlerworld said, there'll be 2 teachers & more equipment/slightly more structure than regular toddlerworld.

    • Miss Robson is the last of the old school independent vets. All the chains are have seriously hiked their prices over the last few years which now makes pet ownership only possible for the wealthy few. Even with pet insurance -( which often excludes items or has ‘deductibles’ ) it is just so much money. A visit with some medication is often £150 - £200. The vets themselves are excellent.
    • Awful. A Google search came up with this, but will he check his office email over Christmas? Maybe worth also contacting local councillor? 'To contact Southern Housing's CEO, Paul Hackett, you can try his direct email, [email protected], or use the general contact email [email protected], as well as calling their main number, 0300 303 1066, for general inquiries or to be directed to the executive level.' Also, from the website: https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2025/contacting-us-over-the-festive-period   'Contacting us about an emergency? If you have an emergency outside of the above times over the festive period, such as severe flooding, an uncontainable leak, gas leak, complete electrical failure or lift breakdown, please call us on 0300 303 1066' I hope it is sorted out soon.

    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
