IlonaM
I currently have a wireless door bell (Byron) which unfortunately has been setting off one of my neighbour's doorbell (a different make). I think that there is a frequency problem. I would be very grateful for advice on:a) whether it is possible to easily change a wireless doorbell's frequency - There is nothing in the instruction manual I found online and on googling it started getting complicated with advice re wire cutting etc. b) whether a wifi doorbell is a good investment. Presumably it will resolve the frequency problem. Are there any wifi devices that you would reccommend in particular? It is for a ground floor flat. keano77
One of my neighbours? doorbell sets off my doorbell but only when the batteries in mine are running out of power and need changing. I leant this the hard way by making a fool of myself accusing delivery drivers of ringing my doorbell when they were three or four doors down the road delivering to my neighbour.Your neighbour might need to replace their battery rather than it being a frequency problem. IlonaM
Ah, that's very interesting keano77. Thank you. I shall suggest that we try new batteries before I fork out for a new doorbell! malumbu
Found wireless doorbells a pain in the neck, always needing to change batteries or in newer versions recharging them. Given up and resorted to a hard knock on the door. Battery life was a frequent criticim in on-line reviews Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/212362-advice-please-1-wireless-doorbell-frequency-problem-2-wifi-vs-wireless-doorbells/#findComment-1300626 Share on other sites
OutOfFocus
I have fallen back to a wired one. Couldn't replace the push button that had broken beyond repair. Sue
I have a wind up doorbell. The only problem I have ever had was when someone overwound it and broke the spring, and it had to be replaced. TeodorRuzz
Try a different model of the doorbell, now there are a lot of them and cost a penny, you can see good models at https://www.diy.com/departments/electrical/door-bells/DIY579332.cat excellent doorbells that fully perform all the necessary functions. I bought myself one of the new models and it has been working fine for 3 months already, I have not seen any glitches yet.
