Forum very slow today?

Is there going to be another thread purge soon to increase capacity, or is this just a temporary glitch?

Or is it just me? (Other sites seem to be at normal speed though).

Don't think it could have been my connection, Pickle, as every other site I was on earlier today the speed was fine.

Slow over here tonight, 10 seconds+ to load a page.

I go to graphics heavy sites to check its not my connection (bbc/ebay etc) and they are as fast as you like.

I think it's probably time for me to clean out the database again. This time of year the traffic to the site goes up and there's so many posts my little old server struggles to cope. I'm going to have a clean out of old posts, this means deleting threads older than 2 months in the for sale, wanted and events sections. Hopefully by next week it will be quicker again.

After about 3 months I do delete all my photos from the site, does this help or do they stay on the server still for you to empty?

Deleting the photos is helpful thank you, they do stay on the server but only until I run the "remove deleted photos from the server" script.
