  1. The soundstop products look good. Look at the floor soundproofing underlay boards that reduce impact noise. In your case I'd guess the problem is mainly impact noise so something like that with heavy underlay, and then carpet would be quite a bit better than what you have now.
  2. No I just stuck it in google and that said it was open. Actual website does say it's shut though
  3. I used satin finish but it's not that reflective. Goes on very thin i.e. You don't need much of it to be protective as it seems to soak into the wood rather than sit on top. I did some floors at work with yacht varnish and that really is like a layer sitting on top of the wood and they look pretty bad in comparison to the diamond glaze ones.
  4. I used Dulux diamond glaze on the last two floors I did. Looks far less varnish-ey than all the others I've used. Very hard wearing but pricey. Water based and dries really quick too.
  5. TheArtfulDogger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Peep Show is based in West Croydon and they show > shots of Zodiac Court where the boys flat is based > (it was actually filmed in a flat in Zodiac Court > for the first two series before the owner of the > flat objected to its use) > I lived in a house directly behind zodiac court from about 91-95, Cavendish rd. You had the cartoon (metal/rock pub, not bad actually) round the front of the block. And then you had sinatras. Their back door was directly opposite ours, which (for us)was actually good vfm for fri/sat evening entertainment :) I actually live in (the borough of)Croydon now fwiw, but I just try not to go anywhere near the place if I can help it. Ikea is near enough.
  6. A quick look on rightmove says that one bed flats are worth 3-400k in se22. You can easily get a house for that if you look further out. Ours cost 260k last year and there are quite a few on around here for not much more than that.
  7. Good luck played a big part for us too. First flat was Nunhead side of Peckham rye, we bought it just after the price crash in 09. It was a very tired repo so we got it pretty cheap. Did it up over the next few years. Sold up last year and bought a 3 bed house in Kenley near Purley. It's another do-er upper, but has cost us about the same as a studio flat in E.D.
  8. He's refurbing my house at the moment. His plastering is really really good. He's maybe not the cheapest out there but the quality of his work is first class.
  9. SSL mixing desks. Quite a bit of hi-end pro audio in general. Orange Cycles, the expensive models are hand-welded in Halifax.
  10. Same as you, dominoes. We left yesterday after 8 years. I've been living within a mile or two for the last twenty years now. 16. Nah sorry El Phibe, the first link was a load of drone like boredom imo. Heard much better. Aphex sounds very analog :)
  17. I really like this album. Ground breaking. Haterz gonna hate but he is an innovator; the rest follow.
