Sally Eva
Schools in Southwark are campaigning for safer streets outside their gates. Bessemer Grange parent Dr Henrietta Collier will be at the Dulwich Society meeting on January 12th 2019 in the Methodist Church Hall at 155 Half Moon Lane SE24 9JG to talk about how they got theirs and how it works. The meeting, starting at 2.30pm, will discuss ?Getting Around Dulwich: towards a healthier, safer and more active future?. Dr Helen Wood, an academic at Queen Mary?s will talk about her research into ?The health effects of traffic-related air pollution?, MP Helen Hayes and Southwark Cabinet member with responsibility for Air Pollution reduction, councillor Richard Livingstone, will also speak.Local councillors Richard Leeming and Margy Newens will be talking about Controlled Parking Zones and Lower Traffic Neighbourhoods. These are controversial ideas in Dulwich where air pollution and car-ownership are high and many elderly people feel dependent on their car.
