Breadcrum45, they installed an electric charging point in my street in a place where cars won?t be able to park when the extended dropped curb double yellow lines are painted. Re a BB, I was turned down the first time but got it the second time. However I am not ?disabled enough for a space?!

I should have said that I realised you were trying to be helpful Rendel - I understand your point that a wider range of ppl can now be considered .

But I will still be astonished if anything about the process of getting a Blue Badge has become much easier .

Shall we not have a debate about the semantics of "much easier for ppl with hidden disabilties "v " much easier to apply for a BB " ?

Hi rahrahrah,

Southwark Council have held back on installing double yellow lines on Crystal Palace Road as they will do this under cycle Quiet Way changes - they're going to install a LOT of double yellow lines, remove current islands from the road. It will make the road fast for motor vehicles and the changes were opposed by the majority of cyclists - they're the antithesis of making it a Quiet Way for cyclists.

Yes, it is happening anyway. Labour councillors have apparently told local residents that they were elected on a manifesto May 2018 that included this - so the negative consultation results will be ignored. And really significantly the majority of cyclists are against these cycling measures. So lots of councillors who don't cycle know better than the majority of people who are cycling!

Thanks for this - thought it was a fair summary by the owner of Roullier White, in particular acknowledging there are issues and if the majority are in favour of the scheme then it's something that business owners will need to deal with, but the response from Southwark Councillor Richard Livingston rather suggests that he sees the case for deterring commuter parking as overriding the other considerations.

" So lots of councillors who don't cycle know better than the majority of people who are cycling!"

I think only one of them even lives in the area and the others seem to barely visit, maybe coming round once a month to promote their party?

I have come very late to this party...and only now looked at the consultation properly. As a Beauval Road resident...which is NOT in the proposed zone by a whisker, all I can say is, if this proposal come is, our street is right on the frontline of the zone border, and is now f~cked....
And then people will want CPZ in your street and so it goes on. S'wark knew the only way they could shoehorn in this revenue raising measure was by going street by street and creating a domino effect and then piling on as many additional pressures as they could devise (unnecessary mass double yellow lines, closing off streets etc..).

I thought from looking at the map that Townley Road is included. Can anyone confirm one way or the other. We live in Beauval Road and I am assuming we will get the cars from the Health Centre, dentist, and the staff and students from Alleyn?s school.

I'm surprised the roads leading off from Townley like Beauval are not already being parked on every morning. Village Way was brought into the CPZ parking zone P a few weeks ago. Zone P covers North Dulwich areas like Red Post Hill, Sunray Avenue, and all the roads surrounding the area, except Dulwich Village which is still a free for all parking area.

I think when the new health centre and the Charter East are up and running then a CPZ will be introduced.

Big mistake, but my Aunt was very old, and this was the Covid years and shortly after so impossible to intervene and get a couple of close relatives to do this.  She had no children so this is the nephews and nieces. He is a single practitioner, and most at his age would have long since retired - there is a question over his competence Two letters have already gone essentially complaining - batted off and 'amusingly' one put the blame on us. There are five on our side, all speaking to each other, and ideally would work as a single point of contact.  But he has said that this is not allowed - we've all given approval to act on each others behalf. There are five on her late husband's side, who have not engaged with us despite the suggestion to work as a team, There is one other, who get's the lion's share, the typicical 'friend', but we are long since challenging the will. I would like to put another complaint together that he has not used modern collective communication (I expect that he is incapable) which had seriously delayed the execution of the will.   I know many in their 80s very adept with smart phones so that is not an ageist comment. The house has deteriorated very badly, with cold, damp and a serious leak.  PM me if you want to see the dreadful condition that it is now in. I would also question why if the five of us are happy to work together why all of us need to confirm in writing.
    • Isn’t a five yearly electricity safety certificate one of the things the landlord must give for a legal tenancy?
    • Very sorry to hear this, but surely the landlord is responsible for fixing the electrics?  Surely they must be insured for things like this? I hope you get it all sorted out quickly.
