I have water tonight despite the road closure though still not sure I'll risk a washing load!

I do wonder if there's any scope to bring the permanent works that are due to start on 16 Feb forward rather than do yet another temporary repair.

Buses now on diversion until Sunday evening.

LORDSHIP LANE, SE22: Routes 176 185 and 197 are diverted until 2000 Sunday 10 February via Barry Road, Peckham Rye, Forest Hill Road and Honor Oak Road due to emergency waterworks on Lordship Lane, and buses are unable to serve stops between Dulwich Library and Horniman Museum.

Count your blessings this afternoon a 185 on it's apparent way to Lewisham decided to go OFF route

from Honor Oak Road,

left into Tyson rd,

left onto Devonshire road,

left onto Boveney road,

left into Hengrave road,

left onto Honor Oak Road,

right and back down Forest Hill Road,

left onto Woodvale all the way to the end,

finally left back onto London Road/ Lordship lane.

The back roads of SE23 are not designed for buses as the driver found out to his cost, having to manoeuvre some very, very tight corners to get around. Doubt he'll be repeating it, and what those living on teh back streets thought when the 185 went doen the roads, I have no idea.

The P13 is currently diverted away from Peckham Rye due to Rye Lane gas works. Personally depending on which part of LL they're going to, I'd get them to change at Peckham Rye for a Southern train to East Dulwich and then bus from there or walk.

They can also walk from Peckham Rye station to Peckham Bus Station where they can get the 37 or P13 to the Goose Green end.

P13 was normal route towards Streatham.

Thanks all. They are coming to Underhill below Melford Rd stop, but were thinking about stopping off on LL to pick up something en route. They might decide to take overland to PR and 363 down instead.

It does feel rather like a magical mystery tour, you're right Applespider!

If the bus is on a diversion I don't think they will stop .

Having said that I did see a P ( something 4 ? ) stop on Barry Rd yesterday ,but I think that was just that driver exercising discretion/anarchy .

    • I went last week and would recommend. I was very happy to see pricing based on hair length and especially a fringe trim price. I live nearby and don’t need it fully styled / blown out after a cut (curly so usually prefer to do it myself) so I like that it is variable pricing in that way.
    • Memes top of lordship haircut shampoo blow dry about £25  dulwich barbers hair cut about£22  jazzes haircut about £26
    • Re Day One, £52 for a short hair cut (cut & styling) and £72 for a long hair cut (cut & styling) which I believe is below the ears.  £38 for a blow dry which doesn’t appear to be included in the cut price as it’s not mentioned.  £15 for a fringe tidy.      I remember being startled to be charged separately for a blow dry by the salon that used to be in Melbourne Grove but is now closed down.  I was asked if I wanted a blow dry after the cut and highlights and said yes, but wasn’t told that I would be charged separately.  Only found out when I went to pay the bill.    Was offered a voucher on a further appointment.    De.Salon which used to be Cut-Throat in Peckham (Choumert Rd and Brixton) charge from £45 for a Short haircut that finishes by the ears.  They charge from £40 for any haircut that finishes below the jawline.  Their prices include a blow dry.  But if you have thick hair they charge an extra £15 for every additional 15 minutes for cutting.     I had my hair cut there before the name change.  I don’t understand the from part of the price. Had a look at the Blue Tit pricing which is very complicated. They charge depending on the stylist’s  experience.  Crab Salad in Peckham  -  short hair cut above the ear - from £69.    Long hair Cut below the ear from £80. Blow dry not mentioned as being included in the cut but is priced at £55 I noticed that Kuki charge different prices for men and women.  Doesn’t seem right if a woman has short hair and a man has long hair.   I used to go to a great salon in NW London  that charged the same price for men and women and stopped going when they upped their prices for women.
