I'm having a The Walkmen (one of the most consistently underrated bands of recent times) and Hamilton Leithauser (their front man) binge at the moment. The latest single is great.

His voice is my favourite in music at the moment.

I remember playing on the same bill as H.O.L in the early 2000s - which is an indication of how far they'd fallen from the public consciousness. Still, they seemed happy to be there and playing on stage, and they sounded good.

Ran into Guy a few years later when he was living round these parts, fixing sash windows for a living. Way more lucrative than music, I dare say.

I asked I Ludicrous to play at my wedding party thingy. They had a lame excuse of being out of practice or something. Got to see them at the Hope and Anchor in more recent times. I've posted there footy related tracks elsewhere on this forum. Of course John was a clerk for most of his working life and when we saw them about ten years ago it looked like they had both come from the office. I'll probably see John at a 60th in a few weeks time. Wow, what a rock and roll life I lead.

    • Quote "it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me." Doesn't say clearly that it tried to bite you , but instead implies that you had the impression, right or wrong that it wanted to nip you.  unless you are clear others will read it how you write it.  As for being a jobsworth, what a quaint old expression, haven't heard that for a long while.

The safest additional security measure is what's called a ghost immobiliser, which cannot be traced through the car's electronics, meaning it is difficult to bypass. They cost a bomb however.
    • I’ve reported two instances of mobile phone theft to 999 in recent times. On both occasions several police units have arrived very quickly - in one case they found the perpetrator.
