This is strange the Guardian article said it had 600,000 on Thursday morning it's just over that now.

Yes. Do spread the word. But it's important not to keep the page open just to watch the numbers rise, satisfying though it is, as I believe this risks overloading the site.

Hi Johnie. Good thinking - but I suspect that using the tracking site might still cause problems. I'm no expert on this, but I read that it makes complex requests of the parliamentary servers, thus putting a load on the petition site that it can't handle. Alex Andreou has said he'll give hourly updates on twitter - so I'm using that as my source of info now.

A few poor showings though such as Lincolnshire and surprisingly Northern Ireland - many may be simply averse to doing online petitions, rather than supporters of a hard Brexit (although that will be the case for the former)

I can't remember when I have had more fun, probably watching the score on teletext of a relegation battle in the 00s. It's 0-0. It's still 0-0. Or that coverage of the blinking competition on that satirical cartoon series again in the 00s.

I'm glad - but probably best if you didn't jump straight back to infantile "remainer cry-baby" type insults. You never know when someone will take exception at an inconvenient time. For example, someone might start getting cross with you just as you are taken ill again.

The petition won't do anything on it's own, it has to be taken in conjunction with other things.

I still have a suspicion we may have to go through a no deal for at least a while before we know the effects (starting next Friday). Ireland has had ships bringing supplies into Dublin for months I hear - we're going to wing it.
