Barry Road paint markings everywhere

Maybe I?ve missed something but anyone know what all the spray paint markings on Barry Road are for?

They?re absolutely everywhere..

Maybe they are markings from utility companies regarding digging up pavements? Or uneven surfaces that need repairing. Or school children having a laugh...

SGN, the gas provider has its subcontractor JDT updating mains cables in SE24. Could be them. Or could be any other Utility. Either way, prepare for pits in pavements and barriers - and potentially, gas leaks resulting in temporary cut-offs.

I had a letter through the door a couple of days ago saying that Thames Water are doing a full survey of the sewerage system on Barry Road between the junction with Upland Road and Peckham Rye. I suspect it's that. Either that or it's the world's most complex game of hopscotch...

By full survey, does that mean digging up the road?

We didn't get a letter through about it..

They will be surveying for leaks, using I imagine metal detectors to identify exactly where pipes run into properties, and those long listening devices to detect water movement at pipe junctions. The markings may be to identify where pipes are running.

They look similar to those on our pavements that were repaved last year. They were also repaving the Gardens not far away so I reckon Barry will be next?
