As my moniker would suggest, this is something of a specialist subject.. I always check the South London Press on a Friday for jumble notices locally, and people do advertise them in the SE22 magazine. I'm not aware of any dates coming up but I'd have thought Goodrich School would be having a jumble sometime soon (I'm strictly jumble so can't tell you about car boots) - and the church on Rosendale Rd in Dulwich has had some great jumbles over the years.

There's also a twins club sale coming up at St Faiths within the next few weeks I believe - that's usually awash with baby stuff too.

There's mum2mum market over in Balham next weekend (10th March). If it's not too far it is well worth the trip. The stuff is amazing - great condition, good brands and bargain prices and no priority entry for members so everyone has the same chance of getting the best bargains.....Just turn up early and queue. www.mum2mummarket.co.uk

Boot sales can be a bit hit or miss- stuff always seems a bit grubbier to me and I have found some things shockingly overpriced at the NCT sales I have been to....

Crescent - the NCT sale at St Faith's (Red Post Hill, North Dulwich, not Dulwich Village) is on from 11am-1pm this Saturday 3rd. They have a poster outside which I pass most days.

Every time the NCT has a sale here the queue goes back for miles, so if you are at back of queue it might take some time to get in! They can only let so many in.

Saying that, I agree with cathh about overpricing, but I think the entrance fee is a bit steep too.

    • You are welcome to mine!  Tthey are pests (assuming you are talking about feral pigeons).  We have occasionally wood pigeons, but once the feral ones arrived the wood pigeons disappeared. I feed tits, finches, robins, great spotted woodpecker and other birds from time to time when they appear.  I used squirel proof feeders.
    • Every day at 12 oclock I take out the food to put on the bird feeder. The pigeons, always being very punctual, form a very orderly queue in true British style on the roof of my shed and take it in turns to partake of the feast. (Other birds do get a look in eventually) . However, today, not one single bird has come anywhere near. The sky is silent. What do they know that I don't. Any ideas?
    • Presumably because she's carrying the whole load of her ward (and her fellow counsellor!)
    • I  too have never had a response from John Hartley but have always found Maggie Browning does respond.  Yes it can take her a bit longer but many councillors work as well.  She's been very good at sorting out any issues I have raised.
