Did a splurge on replacing missing/lost/vinyl Charlatans back catalogue.

Dismissed as the also-rans of baggy, they've actually spoent twenty years changing, growing and producing some pretty decent stuff.

Mind you have you seen Tim Burgess lately, I think his grip on reality may not be quite what it was!!

Saw him give a talk recently and he came across as a bumbling idiot. If I want to listen to endless boring anecdotes about taking drugs I can just meet my old friends from uni.

Don't know if The Charlatans could be classed as deeply unfashionable. "Also-rans of baggy" also seems a bit harsh. While they didn't reach the fame of The Stone Roses/Happy Mondays/Primal Scream, they were always more credible than stuff like The Farm/Inspiral Carpets/etc.

But yeah, Tim Burgess... not the most talkative/articulate of fellows. He comes across as quite introverted, quite surprised he agreed to give a talk on anything!

Utter guff. Probably didn't help that I was there to see everyone but Burgess but I still thought he came across as a wazzock.

I met Tim Burgess briefly once in 93' backstage at a St Etienne gig. He seemed a bit of flake even then.
