Recommended Posts

Without doubt Memsaab

Was there with a friend for buffet Last Sunday.

Huge selection Of starters Chicken wings, Onion Bhajis , Salad , Pickles and sauces.

Rice ,Chana Dhall, Vegetable curry Chicken Naga, Lamb Bhuna, Bombay Potato , Saag Aloo and more.

The Buffett comes with Popadoms and Naan of choice although we just had one Peshwari Naan between us.

We had decent bottle of Merlot Red Wine (not house wine)

We each added a Coffee with cream

We were given Complimentary liquors

We were both really impressed.

?43.00

We did leave a ?7.00 tip.

Not in East Dulwich sadly, but we had an absolutely fantastic buffet lunch today at the Ravi Shankar in Drummond Street (behind Euston Station).

I've been going there for decades when up in that direction, but never realised before that they did buffets at lunchtime.

Really fresh food, loads of choice both hot and cold, including dosas (sp?), six different desserts including fresh fruit salad, everything really delicious.

I being a pig went up three times. My partner said he'd never seen me eat so much :))

With a sweet lassi each (also yummy) the bill came to just over twenty pounds for two.

Bargain.

And there is a little shop in the same street which is fantastic if you are into Indian cooking. Never seen such an array of ingredients, much more choice than Khans (though obviously rather less convenient!)

    • Let's not forget this is the lowest level of local politics. If McCash really thought his defection could trash the Labour Party nationally, and it was loaded with invective and exhibitionism, then that's pretty much the definition of a "hissy fit"! Scooping the Green nomination for DaWN constituency is also going to be a lot harder for a Marxist arriviste than you suggest. There may be a wave of new, younger Polanski-ites that have joined the Green Party of E&W recently, but it's the long-standing, often retired members of the Party that tend to participate in candidate interview panels and bother voting in selections...
    • They've had 26 years or so of trading, and if anyone deserves decent retirement... In my view they're going out at the top. It's clearly being sold, assuming it all goes through as a very more more than just a going concern.
    • I had heard this was on the cards a while ago, sad, the end of an era, but well done Rod and Tim for stewarding a beacon of excellence for so many years.
