whirly
Yes, there is a great Beaver Colony at Rye Hill Tennants Association Hall on a Monday. It's 5 - 6.15, I think! The Nappy Lady
Beavers at Rye Hill Tennants Hall is fab, just come along if you are interested & your son can try it out - trial session is free then ?1 a week plus the once a year membership (around 8 or 10 quid iirc). My daughters been going since she turned 6 & will go up to Cubs in July. She loves it, goes away for nights camping, various trips, gang show etc. Very good value & good fun in my opinion & I like that it's for boys & girls - my friend was gutted her girls went to Brownies & it was much less pro-active. legalbeagle
Sorry, behind the times here clearly, but Beavers is for boys and girls? From what age? And what happens next, do they become cubs and then scouts? Can girls be scouts now?! Pickle
Girls have been able to be Scouts for years LB... I was one in NZ back in the late 80s early 90s. Great fun, although if I'm honest the chance to go on camps with a whole lot of boys did hold quite a lot of appeal (I was one of only two girls) ;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22559-beavers/#findComment-533638 Share on other sites
legalbeagle
Blimey. I had no idea. My mother was a Brown Owl. Suspect she kept this from me deliberately!Edited to say, does anyone have a phone number for them? Can't seem to find one on the internet and would like to call them first rather than just turn up. The Nappy Lady
Legal Beagle, I have a number for Carolyn who is the Beaver leader (can't recall her official title). I'm not sure it's OK to give it out, so let me check with her, and I will either post here or PM you once I have the OK.I'm so much happier with this being a unisex group, makes much more sense to me than brownies etc. etc....M Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22559-beavers/#findComment-533695 Share on other sites
legalbeagle
I agree Molly. Would love you to PM her number if she is happy. Or I can PM you my phone number and get in touch. I need to discuss additional needs with her before I just come along, if it helps for her to know that is the reason for the call. Thanks so much Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22559-beavers/#findComment-533722 Share on other sites

clux
HelloMy daughter goes to the Nunhead Beavers. She was allowed to start at 5 and three quarters but couldn't be invested until she'd turned 6. bumpy
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I'm looking for my local Beavers club and Google seems to bring up a few. Would anyone be willing to recommend a Dulwich or East Dulwich option. Thanks so much.
