Nick Taylor
yes I know but TFL were considering changing the 40 to go to Clerkenwell rather than Aldgate Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/226677-40-bus-route/#findComment-1339734 Share on other sites

Gloves
This is terrible news. So what is the alternative? 78 from Peckham Rye seems to be best alternative, that I can see, or change to the 35 at Elephant, or before? BrandNewGuy
Changing at Elephant is probably the quickest option. 176, 40 or 12 to Elephant, then 35 or 133 to London Bridge and the City. nxjen
Or if you can walk to the corner of East Dulwich Road and Peckham Rye you can catch the 343 to London Bridge Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/226677-40-bus-route/#findComment-1341335 Share on other sites
Baroness Millhaven
I'd recommend 40 users change to the 35 at Camberwell Green. The service isn't usually too full to that point. If you change at E&C it'll be rammed Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/226677-40-bus-route/#findComment-1341387 Share on other sites
nxjen
but a lot of people get off at the Elephant to change buses or to change onto the underground or overground trains so it empties out considerably.
