Estate Agents Commission

Recommended Posts

I sold a property in New Cross in March and paid 1.25% inc vat. Initially both agents I had round to do valuations quoted 1.5% plus vat. The market is very quiet and they?re keen to get new properties if you price it realistically. I suggest negotiating on whatever they offer. If it hasn?t sold, try another agent. Mine didn?t sell for 4 months, switched and it went in three weeks. Good luck.
Similar experience - very little (certainly family homes)coming to market so agents having to charge competitively most now offering 1 per cent but couple still sticking out for 1.25 or 1.5. It annoys me there are still agents out there adding VAT on top. Commission should (since 2016) be quoted with VAT inclusive. Now just to find a good one!

    • The OP might have found the ‘Creative Trump’ protests entertaining but I found them very disrespectful to our late and great Queen Elizabeth who was interred at Windsor Castle 3 years ago.  They would have had more impact on projecting the images at Chequers today.
