With what ?

Hi DVMummy

You do not need to join.. Just say you are coming and then Michael P. will know how many to book for.

We usually meet from 7.00 onwards and eat at 8.00 ish.

We are going to Jaflong so will probably meet in the EDT / Bishop (Michael P will confirm) for pre meal drinks.

Jaflong no longer sells alcohol so you will need to bring some beer/ wine. They do not charge corkage.

It's fine you are by yourself, many of us are. Hope you can make it..

Hi DVMummy

I just read your other thread & would say Curry Club is a good place to start to meet local peeps :)

Perhaps don't be expecting to meet "the one" (no offence gents!), but it's a nice sociable group!

Hi MP - I'm in for Thurs please x

Six of us including DVMummy our newest 'member' enjoyed a splendid meal at Jaflong last night

after pre meal drinks in The EDT.

Having to bring our own beer / wine did not pose a problem.

Food arrived promptly and was exceptionally good. I think we would all agree.

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
