I've had enough of my two closest colleagues - one sat next to me and one sat opposite - eating carrots. They've both recently taken to snacking on them, and both of them do it very noisily indeed.

One of them in particular bites chunks from his carrots with such gusto that I half expect him to leap up and slap his thigh, panto-style, before proclaiming how much he wishes he were a rabbit. He also opens his mouth for a chew every fifth chew or so, just to make sure you can hear what he's up to.

The other one's not quite as bad, but there's still too much munching and crunching, and I think he just encourages the other one.

I'm subjected to this at least twice a day - one carrot each - but often more.

It makes me grumpy. I think next time it happens I shall have to get up and leave my desk until they're done with their rooty snacks.

I am really bored with people talking about

1. "Mini mes"

and

2. People paraphrasing Mrs Merton along the lines of "So what attracted young woman to aging multi millionaire wrinkly" type remarks.

There are a few more - I'll have to get back to you on them. The 2 above are really bugging me to distraction, though.

Bloody hell! That would drive me insane. They'll be on the celery next. I'd get them a rabbit hutch and stick the bastards outside.

Its probably awkward as the two Guys may be senior,on a larger wage....or put another way on a larger monthly celery..:-$

    • Not fair on the patients or the consultants, either.
    • These very anti social fireworks went on for at least fifteen years and were unbearable for both humans and pets.    Was extremely relieved that they moved a couple of years ago.  Never experienced such close proximity loud fireworks before.   But the ones that go off in the middle of the night are also very upsetting and annoying.
    • Not they've gone. Everything has been ripped out. No sign of anyone new yet.
    • The frequency of fireworks seems to be increasing. If revellers selected the low noise variety that would help, but the trend seems to be the louder the better. I do not think sensitivity to stimuli is the same as timidity. Unexpected, extremely loud bangs and unusual noises will startle most of us. Humans, unlike other animals, have the luxury of knowing what fireworks are and what the noise represents. Some animals do learn to cope but many do not. It could be their hearing is not as sensitive. We should not forget that many animals, including cats and dogs have hearing that is much more developed than ours.
