supergolden88
This is connected to the moth thread a little further down. Our house is plagued by moths...Anyway I would like to clean my rugs. 3 are definitely synthetic material and fairly new, one second hand and possibly wool. Is there a way to do this manually - without hiring carpet cleaner? Or if that's the only way where to get one?Recommendations please - thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23039-cleaning-carpetsrugs/ Share on other sites

sanity girl
I would take the synthetic ones to the laundrette and do them in the biggest machine there (if they're not too big). What kind is the wool one? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23039-cleaning-carpetsrugs/#findComment-538601 Share on other sites
supergolden88
No they are room size - quite big. Just really want to take a big sponge and do it by hand with some kind of shampoo. Guess need to look in supermarket for a suitable productthe wool one is a persian (style?) rug. I am just fed up of moths. Have no evidence they are targeting the carpets (why would they when they can have wool and cashmere) but want to eliminate possibility. Plus they could do with a clean what with the little man tracking food everywhere. I have found raisins in unlikeliest locations Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23039-cleaning-carpetsrugs/#findComment-538602 Share on other sites
