My son goes to Bellenden, is in year 1 now and has been there since Nursery. We've always been happy with Bellenden; it's a really small school and generally the staff are very caring. My son likes it there and is doing well so we're happy :). Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.
Would any of you mind telling me how far you live from Bellenden school? We will be applying for Sept 2013 but think we may be too far away. Do you know of they are taking a bulge class this year? I think I saw something on the forum a few months ago suggesting that they might. Thanks.

We also have a place at Bellenden. Our child is at the nursery there at the moment and we have been v impressed. I'd love for the kids to meet up before school (but ours is at nursery each morning) and would also be happy to meet for a coffee with parents beforehand if you have questions etc.

The school summer fair is on sat 14 july which is a good way for kids to get a feel for school as well as see fire engine, have face painted etc

Yes,but we were`nt placed there. My precious grandaughter is at the nursery and loves it,she got a place at Goodrich but we chose Bellenden as it is a small and friendly school, they even let a nosy nanny do a settling in day which was lovely. We are impressed by the staff and she is thriving,we are happy for her to start in reception. Popular and fashionable are not always best. You can always become involved and help to raise standards.

    • Fair points, not arguing with you on them.  What people forget is that immigrants or low skilled workers do the jobs the home population don't want to do and without those jobs being done, things very quickly grind to a halt, i.e. hospital cleaners, all very necessary, but I'd have thought the majority are on minimum wage. And Minimum Wage (35hrs/wk) isn't exactly what I'd call minimum. Just over £21K, easily double and a bit more than what I get in monthly pension income to live off.
    • Well he couldn’t deliver anything better than a poor brexit. Because no such thing exists
    • Fair points jazzer. But it begs the question, on what information are people basing their opinion? because if it’s x or the right wing media the of course they will believe nothing has happened but people who claim to be motivated by rising immigration numbers are either ignorant of or don’t care the those numbers have dropped significantly since Labour got in Hospital waiting lists are finally showing improvements after years of getting worse people on minimum wage are better off We haven’t had a random general election or new prime minister just months after the last one  compare that to Tory chaos Important relations with other countries (important for long term trade and growth) have improved under labour given the size of the mess they inherited it’s far better than many give credit for  and the prospect of a Badenoch and/or farage govt returning us to the chaos of last 10 years? No thanks (I could do a long list of things Labour have done wrong or badly but that’s for another thread. I did not vote for Labour, but all things considered they are a massive improvement on what came before. Unfortunately we have a bunch of far right agitators kicking off around the country because they are cry babies which gives impression country is going downhill  when it’s really not)
