Old Routers from Broadband Providers

Hi, very stupid question but what does one do with them? Chuck them in recycle bin? Do people have uses for them? Assume if you are a teckie then yes. Same things with all the other bump they send you each time you change suppliers.

You can recycle them at the Devon Street waste facility - just make sure to delete all your stored settings first.

BT now enclose a freepost bag to put your old one in to send back for recycling when you upgrade.

Which is nice.

Mines 10 years old yet you can still buy it on ebay :)

I tend to chuck them in the normal refuse bin, they are probably better going to landfill.

Why do you think sending something to landfill is better than recycling it?

The only recyclable bit is surely the plastic casing, so 50% at most. It would need to be cleanly dismantled and separated... TBH I'd be surprised if BT really did recycle them.

I left my place of work 11 years ago.

Back then and beyond we used to put up a Xmas Tree and Christmas lights(until they were banned) for safety reasons.

We used to put the Lights a decorations in Tesco Plastic Bags.

When I went to retrieve the Lights and Decorations the Bags kept behind a desk had completely disintegrated

They fell apart when I picked them up.

They do not take 10,000 years to degrade.

I believe B.T. probably DO recycle these items.

I recently bought a new (Extra) Freezer from Currys PC World

They also take away any small electrical items for recycling (For Free)
