Probably not, but we're pretty well catered for now:

Organic veggies

Fresh Fish / Meat & Game

Deli / Cheese

Coffee / Tea shops

Sweets

Pampering / Make up (Dr Boo)

Lunch / Dinner

Clothes

Furniture

Books

Cook shop

Flowers / Plants

plus the odd charity shop!

Can anyone think of something else we actually NEED, I can't...and I'd rather shops were occupied that lying empty.

We need a good pattiserie, an icecream parlour and a pizza place. If the icecream/pizza place was big enough to accomodate prams it would be great if this could serve good coffee during the day. If you have a pram and find the chain place on the corner a bit souless, ED is poorly served for places to go for coffee.

We have too many Indian restaurants and not enough European restaurants. A few more Spanish/Italian/French restos would go down a treat, as would a fish restaurant.

Personally, I think that East Dulwich blokes are pretty poorly catered for in terms of clothes.

A small independent cinema would be lovely, but am not sure we can sustain it

The choccies in Hope and Greenwood are nice... not a huge selection though, and perhaps not absolutely "top end". A chocolate shop & patisserie would be nice.

I don't think we really need a pizzeria - Mon petit chou do pizzas, there's an italian place on forest hill rd, and rumours of another italian where "the green" used to be.

OB is a nice shop (there is one near my office, where I get 10% discount) and is great for last minute birthday presents. Admittedly not really for fellas.

It really is the last thing needed in ED mind you. :( A sushi restaurant/cafe would have been great :)

No. But it's cheap.

But the Ritzy in Brixton is much nicer - I'd rather pay more and go there - not far on the 37 :)

    • I completely agree with you, Angelina. But it's worth noting that no one else has a problem with her, or finds her rude /  has mentioned her aggressively banging gates / ringing doorbells etc.
    • But I don't think that was what you meant, was it? But he can hardly be held responsible for what somebody else did! Just discovered I forgot to post the above  last night, and now it's overtaken by long posts.  I don't have sufficient knowledge  to counter some of what has been said above, some of which appears to be opinion rather than facts, so it would be pointless for me to say anything else.
    • I am sure our lovely Evri delivery team, who do a firkin hard job, take the time between drops to read the East Dulwich Forum 🤫
    • For every person like OP that moans their doorbell was rung and there was a knock on the door, there's someone else moaning that they didn't hear the delivery drivers. If you've ever done delivery work you'll know that loads of people's bells don't work. The delivery drivers probably goes to a hundred doors a day: press bell, knock door, drop package, move on. If you don't like delivery drivers, insist on delivery by Royal Mail where the workers have wages and a union - or just stop ordering shit online that's artificially cheap. But most of us (me included) don't want that
