I know a lady who leaves food for the adults, who then in turn feed their babies right here in Peckham...It;s a sight to behold and all talk of shooting etc is not actually that funny.

Two other fine books about crows are Mark Cocker's "Crow Country" and Esther Woolfson's entertaining memoir "Corvus: A Life With Birds" about various crows that have lived with her family. Wonderful birds.

Yes, this occurred to me too. I've had to whistle the cats down from the crow tree several times. At first, the crows made things worse by hopping round scolding the cat just out of its reach. However, I'm sure they've associated me with the whistle and the cat's withdrawal as they quieten down when I appear making it much easier to get the cat to come down. Clever beasts.

Better still IMHO is to turn the cats and foxes against each other (they probably are already).Long Live the Crows
