Ahem! To be fair you don't go 22 games unbeaten by being disorganised. I thought France looked very good but were frustrated by England's two banks of four every time they attacked. Roy Hodgson has got us organised (that word again) defensively which is the first thing you have to do. Organisation starts at the back. If we can be more offensive and creative without shirking our defensive responsibilities it's possible we can do a lot better in this tournament. I feel we still have to be very cautious with our work without forgetting our attacking instincts if we are to progress any further. Just a little more positivity in midfield and sharpness in our finishing up front and I think we can go a little further in this competition.

I always wondered what it would be like to see somebody repeatedly tongue their own anus in front of a bemused crowd. Now I know.

With a better-than-50% chance of any drawn teams Having been to war with each other within the last century, the European championships are blessed with that extra subconscious (or not) frisson that the World Cup often lacks.

Adrian Chiles though.. Toby jug of warm piss. 'Nuff said.

I disagree and I know that El Pibe haved defended you in the past. You've just taken this opportunity to give a punch under the guise of the blame game. No doubt, *Bob* has done the same thing too.

Fair enough jah, I'm happy to retract the word. Sloppy perhaps, timid maybe, blunt, illiquid.

Far less the threat that they look on paper, England a little more.

And bob, harsh, I'm rather partial to the chiles charm, and as for that frisson I don't know what you're talking about, I mean what's more innocent than Poland-Russia....oh...erm, France-England....bugger, Germany-holland? Oops, ah well, Russia-Czech republic, damn......

Otta, you really should watch your tone. Gerrard should never have turned his back to a shot bearing in mind that he is playing in a major tournament. It has nothing to do with him being a Liverpool player.

eta: another Otta's comment designed to caused difficulties for myself.

@bon3yard

You're absolutey right.

You just don't understand, Otta. Puffing around the local school playing field playing field amateur football on the weekend gives you a unique insight into the professional game which no-one could hope to surpass.

Anyway.. Back to more pressing questions. Has Alan Hansen had a bit of work done since.. Well.. since the last World Cup?

    • It is not only Southwark - our grandson, partner and 7 year old had a one bed council flat for years in Harlow Essex and all the properties offered were in poor condition. They eventually took a property as if they refused another one they would drop to the bottom of the Housing List. It was damp and in need of a level of renovation. Having lived in these conditions for a while they were offered better council accommodation recently, but further away from child's school. They had to pay 2 lots of rent for a few weeks as council had to undertake work in the new premises before they could move in,
    • Just had an interior decorating job done by Andy. The final outcome looks lovely and he did some remedial work at the same time to fill in gaps in the ceiling (due to previous electrical work) and to remediate any similar areas to ensure a polished overall look. Would highly recommend him for any similar job, he quoted a very reasonable price for the job as well. Thanks Andy!
    • Well at least there are now functioning bulbs in 2 of the hanging lights in the main passageway to the street. Very luxurious not having to walk through in the dark anymore!
    • So work has still not started in the station square. After years of delays we were told it would begin in summer 2025, then October, then January and now just "soon" / "this year". That means the new square is not going to open this year. Pretty poor that Southwark is unwilling  to communicate any reasons for its continuing delays. Meanwhile for the station itself, Network Rail is moving forward with a minor scheme to reduce the crush but still with no lifts:  https://www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/peckham-rye-station-to-get-5m-makeover-while-waiting-for-step-free-rebuild-87172/
