tallulah71
I agree with Otta - unless they are totally responsible and don't leave burn marks, or all the rubbish behind. Peckham Rye was full of rubbish from yesterday's BBQs. The idiots had just dumped all the leftover crap next to the bins for someone else to pick up - which the foxes got to and pulled apart, enticing all the dogs that were walking this morning to cooked chicken bones and leftover nastiness.FFS why can't people take all the empties and done-withs home or to the nearest biffa in a bin liner? - they managed to get it all there. I bet they wouldn't leave their garden like that if they had one. Jeremy
I don't see the problem with it, as long as people take their rubbish home. Surely a small brown square on the grass will be gone soon. Besides, some disposable bbqs come with little fold-out legs. KidKruger
I think leaving trash around after a BBQ (or any food outing) in th park is out of order. It's a public location so try to keep it tidy for everyone.Leaving burn marks in the ground or on concrete is a bit worse because it can't be swept/picked up. uncleglen
I wish my neighbours would go to the park with theirs instead of spoiling the weekend evenings for us. the-e-dealer
A small area where BBQs can be lit and perhams some hard standing to put them on would be a good idea but all over the park ? no! Help-Ma-Boab
Is there not a BBQ area in Peckham Rye Park. Could have sworn I have seen an area with tables and benches and half sawn oil drum BBQs for public use. Might be a different park all the same. the-e-dealer
Twits . After a couple of hundred of these we end up with a burnt field. If Southwark don't allow BBQs in parks you can see why. Why didn't the idiots who did this put the BBQ on the Tree Stump. Basically because they are thick and don't care about their own environment. How very very sad.
