Ruth_Baldock
Hi Strawbs,We flew internationally ih october and at LHR i didn't have to take lex, then 3mo, out of tge maclaren but on.tge return journey (coming through JFK) I did have to take her out of the ergo. Everyone was very helpful though as they thought I was travellihg alone; my husband had stormed off ahead w/ toddler(!)Typos courtesy.of.ipad. Belle
It does vary to be honest. if T is asleep they might let you through, but think best to prepare for having to take him out etc. Just ask for help, people are SO helpful esp when travelling on your own, I've handed both my kids to strangers in similar situations! Oh, also - sometimes aiports have a specific security line for people with wheelchairs and buggies, we did this via easyjet from Gatwick I think. Pickle
We've had both scenarios, first time ever travelling home with a baby they let him stay in the buggy (asleep), but typically the time I did it by myself they not only made me take him out, but also whipped beloved stinky dog toy out of his mouth to put through xray. I was left with screaming 8 month old and not much help putting the buggy back together. Don't be scared to ask for help if you need it.Have never had to take babies out of soft slings through security.Try not to worry too much, although I know how you are feeling. My first trip home alone my flight from Heathrow was delayed, meaning I missed my connection and was put on a flight to a different part of NZ. My sister had arranged to fly and meet me at my original destination to then help out for the final hour long flight. Despite all of that I made it in one piece, once you're on the plane it's out of your hands and even I (self confessed control freak) just went with the flow. The flight crew were fantastic, managing to contact my family to let them know the change of plans and even arranged a new flight for my sister to the new arrival point meaning she was still there to meet me! rachel83
I have always had to take my daughter out of the Ergo to go through airport security. We must have done about 10 flights and they all insisted she comes out :( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23667-sorry-one-last-travel-question-flying-tonight/#findComment-547895 Share on other sites
