Weekend membership is ?39 single or ?69 partner. You can use the gym and go to any of the classes at that rate.

Look forward to a steamroom, but only if it doesn't heat up the rest of the building, such as the changing rooms. I prefer the gym to be on the cool side - you don't need a warm gym, shower room etc if you're sweating! Nero

It's the capital outlay that is the issue with the steam / sauna Karter. It will cost circa ?40,000 to install sauna/ steam including the structural work required. Due to the problems with the contractor, we had to pay out a lot of money to fix various things that the contractor messed up so we have no spare capital at the moment.

To answer your quesiton Nero, the ventalation will deal with the extraction of the steam and so it shouldn't heat up the rest of the building. It's very hard to predict the weather at the moment and alter the temperature of the bulding accordingly The tempareature is centrally controlled although we have had a few problems with the extract in the bathrooms, again due to the idiot builder we had.

Incidentally Max are you keeping an ear out for the noise levels that may be produced in you building? Only mentioning it incase you hadn't already considered it... you don't want another Cafe Nero situation wiv the nearby residents ;-)

We did a lot of work with the local residents before we submitted our planning application. We held an open day and showed them our plans and listened to their feedback. We're not really that noisy to be honest. We don't play much music, no tvs The only noise comes form the air handling unti and that has been positioned to extract onto the alley beside the building to minimise noise levels for residents.

No, a bit further over but I do know that sound does travel easily from bassano street into neighbouring areas so was just wondering how far you had stretch out your monitoring

Frankly no amount of noise emanating from the gym (of which I don?t believe there is any) could compete with the unholy racket from the church in Bassano Street. Whatever deity is involved, they cannot be best pleased!

Just to keep on topic, I am a regular user of the new gym and cannot fault it. Friendly, helpful, great facilities, keep it up guys!

That was partly why I raised the question... with the singing from the church and the kids at Soup Dragon (which can be heard in many directions depending on the way the wind is blowing) I was wondering is we'd be hearing things from the gym too. Or more importantly whether those running the gym had considered it (if you aren't familiar with current "disturbances" you may not be aware...)

On sunday I was given a tour of the fusion gym at Brockwell Park, didn't realise it was there as we were just going for a walk in the park. It has great machinery, well varied, very clean and good changing rooms. I was very surprised to find that it has a sauna and steam room too.
