Thai Corner Cafe

Does anybody know the best way to book a table at Thai Corner Cafe on North Cross Road? They literally never seem to answer the phone, ever.

I've tried to walk in and book before but they told me it was full for that evening.

Last time we went, we strolled in, were told it was full, said fine call us if that changes and went for a pint at the actress. A table came free 45 minutes later.

I don't think I've ever called before about 5pm, but never had any issues getting through on the phone.

Also - I know they are bring your own bottle, but do they serve soft drinks?

I love this place. I usually book after 4pm for that evening or just go in and hope to get lucky.

They don't take cards - cash only.

They do serve soft drinks. And jasmine tea/green tea.

Went last night and enjoyed my meal very much. Very reasonably priced too. The corkage fee is a bit cheeky and some of the service could have been done with a bit more of a smile, but it was extremely busy!

I would perhaps go on a quieter night than a Saturday. It's a tiny restaurant. I didn't like the way people who had ordered takeaway were lingering around our table as we were eating. Would be better if they had a hatch to dispense the orders.

Overall I'd recommend it for the food but prefer a slightly more chilled out environment.

This place has gone down the pan. Very sad, arrogant staff, pay an extra few quid and and have a good meal. I used to love it X
