Celia Hammond Animal Trust are looking for an Animal Care Assistant.

Lewisham Branch ? part time cat care vacancy!

Our Lewisham Rescue Centre in S.E London has a vacancy for a part time animal care assistant working shifts including weekends on a rota.

The job involves the day to day care of our rescued cats who are awaiting new homes, its hard work and isn't glamorous but for the right person being involved in the rehabilitation and care of our cats on their journey from arrival in our centre to leaving us for their new homes is very rewarding.

There is a lot of cleaning involved and high standards are essential, daily tasks involve cleaning dirty litter trays, feeding cats, and cleaning cattery accommodation. You will need to be a genuine cat lover, gentle, patient and understanding and able to offer kindness and reassurance to the rescued cats and kittens in our care.

If you are dedicated to improving the welfare of cats and want to become part of the vital work that the Celia Hammond Animal Trust does to help stray and unwanted cats in London please apply in writing including your CV and a cover letter explaining why you are interested in this role. Please email [email protected]

    • You have to use the right extinguisher for the type of fire - water/foam not to be used for live electrical fires for example. A quick Google says powder extinguishers can be used on the most different types of fire. In a public/commercial setting fire extinguishers have to be serviced every year. Not sure the recommendation for residential ones, but when you buy extinguishers and fire blankets check if there's an expiry date.
    • Thanks, yes I need the y piece for the water to go to IN both washing machine AND the dishwasher but the y piece doesn’t fit on the B yellow pipe…  I’m not worried about the waste pipe for now, I’m just concerned about the supply to get water in to both appliances
    • Not sure about the word “input” - do you mean outflow / waste ? Red figure A looks like the sink overflow. If B is the washing machine outflow then that’s where you want your Y fitting. ( assuming all above conjecture is correct). I’d put a cap on that chrome threaded dead connection too. Don’t just rely on the valve. It all looks a bit of a mess TBH 🫣.
