tallulah71
I'll keep it sweet because I'm already feeling like a plumBaked a choc loaf just now. Easy. Turned it out and it fell apart. Gutted. Tastes good though and seems a shame to throw away - any ideas on how to make it good again? Desserts that call for choc sponge bits? Anyone?x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23970-wanted-advice-on-cake-gone-wrong/ Share on other sites

Huggers
Nigella Lawson has a recipe for a chocolate cake that doesnt turn into a disaster if it falls apart. Its her celebration cake. Have not got it to hand, but the icing is what sticks it together. One 100mg bar of darkest chocolate. Heat some cream, not to boiling, double I think, and drop into it the chocolate, chopped into finest bits. Then electric whizz with whisk till you have a thick glutonous chocolate creamy mess. Pour this over the cake, perhaps pushing cake into right shape and filling cracks, it should stick it together. good luck! Huggers
if it has totally fallen apart, perhaps you can force it with the cream choc icing mixture into something to contain it like a jelly mould.
