Maverick379
I've seen similar threads on the forum but I've not been able to find a recommendation. We just want someone to have a look at some internal cracks to see if we need to do anything to remedy them other than redecorate.Any suggestions would be great, thanks. mxwlkr
We used David Godden for some structural issues (including cracking) with our house last year. jules b
Regarding the post above for Cupola, -When recommending a business, you should acknowledge that you work for that business. gitasu
Do not use Adrian Ayora from Cupola Design! The man is incompetent and dishonest. He charged me ?175+VAT to assess the structure of a two-meter width wall, and he misdiagnosed one part of the wall - decided it was brick, rather than a single piece of plywood! He could have simply knocked on the wall to check whether it was hollow or solid, but instead glanced at it and decided what it was, because he was too busy trying to convince me to hire him to do further work beyond the scope for which I had hired him. I paid the ?175+VAT assessment in advance of his visit and, despite not fulfilling his obligations under the contract, he would not refund the money. He also seems to have a history of over-engineering the solutions in his drawing (see Google reviews of his firm), because his contract terms mean you have to pay him more to produce a simpler, straightforward and affordable design. Another way for him to milk you for more money. I am currently in the process of filing a formal complaint against him with the Institution of Structural Engineers. Avoid Adrian Ayora and Cupola Design. Also be aware that MariaVa, who keeps recommending him on this forum, is Maria Vanegas - his administrator who happens to live at the same address (eyes roll upward) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/240502-can-anyone-recommend-a-local-structural-engineer/#findComment-1450638 Share on other sites
