  1. Looking for somewhere reasonably priced, effective and professional in or near ED…. Thanks
  2. Looking for a local lash technician for 31st Dec, either salon or mobile. Please PM recommendations. Thanks.
  3. Any good local tradesperson/company who does this? Needs sanding down to take varnish off and then painting.
  4. Hi there Can anyone recommend a reliable Mac pro who can help me set up a new MacBook Pro, back up my existing one and transfer files etc over to new one. I need someone who can hand hold me through the process as it?s not my speciality..
  5. Have used David Godden a few times. He?s great - no nonsense, knowledgable and reliable. He does loads of work around ED and Dulwich. www.goddenstructural.com
  6. Another recommendation for Kelvin. I found him via this thread. He was the only guy who called me back and was extremely helpful and accommodating. Came out at 8.15pm, didn't charge a fortune and sussed the issue. A nice guy too which is always a bonus. His number is 07984 143933.
  7. I had a spray tan with Jennifer recently which was just fab. I'm not terribly au fait with these things but she made me feel really comfortable and really listened to what I was after (nothing too dark or unnatural looking). The result was great - really even, really nice looking shade that just made me look a bit sunkissed and healthier. Really recommend her, she's super.
  8. Just had a rather brilliant wax at a new place in West Dulwich. The therapist was very professional (I had a high bikini done), took her time to get it just right and did a really great job. Her name's Mimi and she's on 07961 222 242. Think she does lots of other treatments although I didn't experience them.
  9. Morning RPC, Thanks for your message. No we're not affiliated to the Mayor's campaign. We are Thrive Dulwich, a local (and currently small) initiative whose focus is on life coaching, pilates and nutrition. We only have the event mentioned above running at present but hope to get more in the pipeline soon.
  10. Our house is freezing. Usual story: period property, sash windows etc etc. Anyway the major offender is the front door which is slightly warped and extremely draughty. It's got some really nice stained glass in it (original) but the actual door is pretty flimsy. We've had a quote from LDC which is hefty. They have, however, included refurbing the stained glass and, according to the salesperson, the finished product will be mega robust, thickened, toughened, draught proofed, insulated, you name it ...but will it make a difference to the draughts? I just want to hear from someone who has done similar and can vouch that it's worth the huge shellout. Or not. Please share your experiences...I'd be very grateful.
  11. Looking for a trumpet teacher for my 10 year old. Any recs out there? Needs to be patient...!
  12. Do they carry out small jobs too, do you know?
  13. Can anyone recommend someone for this? Need exterior and interior quote. Thanks
  14. Another shout out here for Darren. Came at short notice, fixed a leaking gutter and replaced a section to make the whole thing stronger. A smooth, fuss-free experience. Big thumbs up.
  15. Another recommendation for Martin, basically echoing everything said above. Martin revamped our entire front and back gardens. He excavated the entire front section of the garden, levelled it, built a driveway and laid a black and white Victorian path. He also built an ingenious bike rack/shed at the side of our house so that our bikes now hang on the wall rather than living in the house which they had done. He then prepared the back garden for planting, dug beds, laid borders, installed lighting and re-painted our decking. He replaced fencing, put up a external door and replicated a really cool slatted batten fence that I'd seen in a magazine. He was tidy, considerate and a real pleasure to have around - even my neighbours loved him! Nothing was too much trouble, he answered emails/texts quickly and came up with loads of great ideas along the way. A brilliant hard landscaper who is clearly very proud of the work he does. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. If you want more info please PM me.
  16. My house is freezing, mainly due it having a single layer of wooden floor boards (original - lots of gaps) over a 5 foot void. I'm looking for someone to insulate (from underneath) and either replace the floor or repair what I already have. Please let me know if you can recommend someone who's up for doing a proper job. Thanks so much.
  17. Thank you so much, will be sure to get in touch. Appreciate the tip.
  18. I'm after recommendations for electricians with knowledge of wiring up underfloor heating systems. Our underfloor heating is working (thanks to Lee Garvey a plumber who can be found on here - highly recommended), we just need someone to check that the thermostats are connecting properly and 'talking' to the control centre, which they're currently not doing. Need someone with a background in heating who knows what they're doing. Thanks
  19. Either just in the morning / afternoon or all day. Thanks in advance.
  20. It has a wall extractor, so I'm after someone who has the suitable tools and experience. Please let me know if you know someone who can do the job brilliantly. Thanks.
  21. Thanks everyone. Lots of good suggestions here. I will never be left desperate at 10pm again!
