Great - both replies very helpful. KK, did PVA leave a shiny finish at all? I want the bricks to look exactly as they do now (ie. no sign of a coating or change of colour etc) Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Has anyone done this? Just wondering what product to use. Googling hasn't provided much info. I want to stop the bricks flaking and prevent dust with something that has a dead flat matt finish. Any help would be much appreciated.

Great ideas - thanks all.

Anyone have any good recommendations for places/websites where I can source reasonably priced, good quality material for curtains?
-
Just wondering if the pros (no grouting/seamless, hardwearing, warm underfoot) outweigh the cost? Also, if anyone can recommend any suppliers that'd be great. Thanking you in advance.

Am rekindling this thread as Jake Dunn is super busy for the next 12 weeks (obviously very good) and am waiting to hear back from Terry Malone. Has anyone else had a bespoke kitchen made for them? Or alternatively does anyone have experience of using companies that produce handmade shaker style kitchens, such as DeVol, Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch, Neptune etc. Would love to hear from you if so. Thanks awfully.

A long shot but just wondering if anyone has had these installed? I'd really like to see some in situ and/or hear people's feedback before I plump for them instead of good old Velux. Thanks.

Grace and Favour clothes are back!
mothercourage replied to Julie Foulcer's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Hi, Could you post your opening days and times please. I went by earlier but you were shut. Keen to have a browse as I loved what you had in G&F. Thanks. -
In the name of getting a handmade kitchen without the ???, I'm looking for someone to make bespoke cabinet doors to fit existing carcasses. I'm hoping to then spray them or get someone in the know to do it for me. Has anyone done this successfully who can recommend a skilled and not too expensive carpenter?

Recommendations for window refurbishment specialists
mothercourage replied to Hatchie's topic in Request a Tradesperson
I now have some good before and after pics of the work SPS Windows (formerly Sundial) did on my sash windows, if anyone is interested. The transformation is quite remarkable. Feel free to PM me. -
Sash Windows - Replace or Refurbish? Help please!
mothercourage replied to Jemmarc's topic in Request a Tradesperson
I second Steve Carter from SPS Windows. He's done a mighty fine job on ours. PM if you want more info. -
Steve Carter at SPS Windows is your man. I've waxed lyrical about him elsewhere on the forum. Feel free to get in touch if you want more info or to take a look at the transformation he did on ours (I've got some good before and after pics). He's on 07966 493641. All the best.

Stephen Bridges is local. Do a search on the forum he comes highly recommended. Cheap, reliable and nice with it.

Anyone tried a Brazilian Blowdry?
mothercourage replied to ClareC's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I also had Carly over for a Brazilian treatment. She was such a lovely girl and did a really great job. I've had this done elsewhere before but Carly's done a much better job. I have super thick fuzzy hair which is now really sleek. Amazing and well worth the money. -
I got aerials-installed to do mine. Local, cost ?90. Havent got number to hand but a quick google should help.

Anyone been to Sri Lanka with kids?

Ok great. Some good recommendations. Anyone been to Yala National Park. Wondered what the safari trips are like?? Will def do a turtle and elephant adventure somewhere along the way. Is it a ridiculous idea to take a car seat with us for our one-year old?
