Personally, I am a huge fan of Next babygros. Hadn't bought anything from Next before and had always used John Lewis, Sainsburys or Gap ones with baby no. 1 (found GAP ones the worst of three, Sainsburys ones not great after a few washes and John Lewis ok but again, felt really thin after a few washes).

Got given some Next ones as a present for baby no.2 and haven't looked back since. Nice thickness, enforced round the sleeves so they don't roll up and no bobbles after washing. Getting some more today!

We found George/Asda plain white sleepsuits really good. Very thick, wash well and ridiculously cheap at ?4 for a 3 pack. I have some Green Baby ones that are good, particularly the winter weight ones for cold nights.

After about 12 months I couldn't face the after bath battle with a wriggling octopus child and a thousand poppers on the legs so we switched to a mixture of big boy pyjamas and a couple of Hatley sleepsuits with a long zip fastening.

I like H and M ones as they do organic cotton (?10 for 3, mix and match), and also they have a kind of ruched bottom which is great as we use cloth nappies which are larger round the bum. Do like next ones too as they are nice thick cotton, and my Mum got me some from Debenhams which have washed really well.

    • Ah sorry, it was comedy.
    • I have never used AI in my life. It's just notes from my forthcoming monograph on light industry in Dulwich and Camberwell 1879-1946 (dates chosen for obvious reasons).
    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
