Lu
I'm giving up with a dongle because it's useless...Have checked BT for broadband speed in my area and it's estimated at 3Mb - which doesn't sound a lot. Does anyone know if that's enough to watch iPlayer? No sign of the BT Infinity that they're pushing so heavily on TV in my area. El Pibe
It's fine for non HD content. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24251-broadband-speed-for-iplayer/#findComment-556683 Share on other sites
maxxi
My payg 3G dongle works at less than 3MBps and is fine for non-HD stuff on iPlayer. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24251-broadband-speed-for-iplayer/#findComment-556713 Share on other sites
Undisputedtruth
Consistency of speed is more important than maximum speed. My connection is 22MBs and I was having issues with dropped connections and stuttering content on Iplayer. Thankfully my connection is rock solid. Last night I fell asleep just after watching football and Iplayer was still streaming when I woke up this morning. So I'd carry out the following:1) scan your machine for any spywares and virus2) clear your browser cache2) check if there are any technical matters with your connection4) update flash (despite having a rock solid connection, last week my iplayer kept crashing and a latest update resolved my problem) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24251-broadband-speed-for-iplayer/#findComment-556736 Share on other sites
Bic Basher
I rarely use my 3 dongle for iPlayer, but I watched a 20 min programme on there this morning and it worked fine with no buffering. Undisputedtruth
I used to wonder if my 22 MBs was fast enough for iplayer each time when the content stuttered. Quite easy to blame the connection for iplayer problems.
