I had Richard & Paul round for a heavily gloss painted cast iron fireplace which i wanted restoring. When they came back a week later to reinstall i couldnt believe the difference! They had stripped all the gloss paint off and polished it. I can now see detail i didnt even know was in it! It has transformed the whole room! Im so pleased with it and the service i was provided that im having the guys back to do the other one.

I can highly recommend RPS Fireplaces!!! They was both polite, professional and the cost was considerably cheaper than other shops i tried!

Wow! Sounds like a fantastic service almost sounds unbelievable ! Perhaps you could post or email me some pictures of the great work they did for you as it sounds amazing and so polite and professional.all my fireplace are very glossy and I would like them to shine like a star ! As I can't see any detail on mine at all and I would be interested in a considerably cheaper price. did you visit any of the other more expensive shops to compare your considerably cheaper prices? How highly would you recommend these masked men they sound like batman and robin disguised as fireplace restorers
RPS fitters installed two fireplaces at our home. We had bought them at a reclamation yard, so they needed restoration and subsequent fitting. Both are full cast iron inserts (Edwardian and Victorian) and came up beautifully. In addition they restored our existing slate hearths. We found them to be efficient and friendly. RPS arrived on time and left our house clean and tidy when the work was completed. They were also competitive on price, and I would not hesitate to recommend their services.

Richard and Paul from RPS did a superb job on my fireplaces last week. They installed two slate hearths, made the fires firesafe and then tiled the area in front of another two fireplaces. They were competitive on pricing, friendly, reliable and left the house tidy after the job.

Fantastic service

I have been putting this "job" off for a while as i was worried about the mess and so on... shouldnt have worried at all, the guys left it spotless! Great service all round with very competitive prices, will definately be recommending to my friends and family!

    • I think that's a big assumption.  Many people vote for the candidate precisely because they are a member of a particular party and represent that party's policiies.  I personally didn't know who McAsh was in the last election, but I knew what party he represented.  When politicians don't act "morally" what are we to think of them and their motivations? But I think there will be people who want to vote Labour, don't know that McAsh has defected and accidentally vote Green precisely because they do vote for the name.  Yes, you could say they need to read the ballot paper more carefully but it's possible to see one thing and not notice another.
    • Morally they should, but we don't actually vote for parties in our electoral system. We vote for a parliamentary (or council) representative. That candidates group together under party unbrellas is irrelevant. We have a 'representative' democracy, not a party political one (if that makes sense). That's where I am on things at the moment. Reform are knocking on the door of the BNP, and using wedge issues to bait emotional rage. The Greens are knocking on the door of the hard left, sweeping up the Corbynista idealists. But it's worth saying that both are only ascending because of the failures of the two main parties and the successive governments they have led. Large parts of the country have been left in economic decline for decades, while city fat cats became uber wealthy. Young people have been screwed over by student loans. Housing is 40 years of commoditisation, removing affordabilty beyond the reach of too many. Decently paid, secure jobs, seem to be a thing of the past. Which of the main parties can people turn to, to fix any of these things, when the main parties are the reason for the mess that has been allowed to evolve? Reform certainly aren't the answer to those things. The Greens may aspire to do something meaningful about some of them, but where will they find the money to pay for it? None of it's easy.
    • Yes, but the context is important and the reason.
    • That messes up Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - democracy being based on citizenship not literacy. There's intentionally no one language that campaign materials have to be in.
