ladyruskin
It's our son's first birthday this weekend. With it being in late July we've planned a picnic to celebrate. Given the rain looks to continue does anyone have any ideas for an indoor location (our flat isn't big enough to fit everyone in!)?I am going to see if St Faiths can help us but with it being a Sunday I'm doubtful. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. annaba
Hi,You could try the Living Water Satsifies cafe in Crystal Palace if that's not too far away. They have a back room they hire out for events. http://www.livingwatersatisfies.org.uk/venuehireOr you could try the salvation army centre also in Crystal Palace. There's free parking for up to 4 hours behind Sainsburys just off Westow Street.Anna Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24534-does-anyone-have-any-suggested-venues-for-an-indoor-picnic-this-sunday/#findComment-560751 Share on other sites
scareyt
You could try the conservatory at the Horniman - I don't think you can book it and would have to get there early as it can get busy but it's an inside space where you can eat your own food. And then you could dash out to play in the gardens if it stops raining or go see the fish in the aquarium if it doesn't! nunheadmum
If further afield is ok, how about the Royal Festival Hall? Lots of nooks and crannies for the kids to explore, bars for the parents if needed, outside options if the weather improves.... Mrs TP
BBC weather website is now saying 23 degrees and sunny for Sunday so you might just get away with it. Nip down to B&Q buy an awning type thing that will act as shade from rain / sun and head off to your selected park spot. All will be well.Saino's have some cute picnic plastic wear and rugs on offer too. civilservant
the Horniman conservatory would get my vote. I'm very keen on the Festival Hall as well, but doubt if you would be allowed to have a private party with cake and candles there.
