Fr. Gerry Mulvihill
St Thomas More Hall closed as a Social Club in September 2011. A Project Manager has now been appointed to evaluate proposals for the future of the hall and make recommendations to the Trustees. Any proposals should be accompanied by a business plan and sent, without delay, to Jonathan Palmer, email [email protected] Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24535-st-thomas-more-hall-lordship-lane/ Share on other sites
Marmora Man
Combine plans for cinema with an M&S and you'll have a winning business plan. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24535-st-thomas-more-hall-lordship-lane/#findComment-560931 Share on other sites

davidh
it was a perfectly good function room already before you ripped out the bar and closed it all down, displacing the irish set dancing crowd and many others. gee thanks, father Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24535-st-thomas-more-hall-lordship-lane/#findComment-561091 Share on other sites
silverfox
I can't imagine the Irish set dancing crowd and others generated enough money to cover the operating and maintence costs. I suspect the former Father John kept it going as a pet project. That place could be a gold mine given it's position and size. Reg Smeeton
Judging by the popularity of another thread, there seems to be a vast untapped demand for a cinema in the area... minder
The hall was discussed in another thread back in Sept 2011 - thought it had gone to a nursery. DJKillaQueen
I know someone who was very involved before it's closure as a 'social club' and that person has a very different take on the story given by the father that closed it all down. Bit of a cheek if you ask me to now ask the local community for ideas after ignoring the suggestions and views of the community that were using it before. Jeremy
DJKQ, I think he was asking for business proposals, not for ideas from the community.
