I have a real longing to go to Greece this summer - From watching the Durrell's (tv programme) Corfu is high on my list and you can fly to.

But also wondering if anyone had any islands they had been to recently (especially with a tween/teen) that they could recommend either in terms of getting there and where you stayed. The other option is to fly to Athens then take a ferry - any suggestions would be most welcome!

Andros is amazing .. deserted beaches. It's actually near to naxos (which is also lovely) . Andros is very mountainous and really need to hire a car but anazing driving through the mountains. Much lower key than naxos. Tbh you could combine both !

    • Thanks Sue.  No the car just drove on.  We don't know if they noticed.  We were driving behind.  We were just glad we could be with the cat, and take him to the vet, rather than leaving him there 😞
    • Certainly the infamous (and mythical) SE London cat killer turned out to be foxes attacking dying and dead cats injured by cars, but fox: cat encounters do appear to happen, even where cats are victorious. Fox: adult humans less so. At least where foxes are the aggressors.
    • That was very kind of you to take the cat to the vet. Did the car not stop?
    • This is a bit outside our area, but I'm posting in case .... Last night (Sat.20 Dec), around 10.30, we saw a cat hit by a car in St Norbert Road, SE4.  We took him to the out of hours vet in Beckenham, where they confirmed that he had died.  They will see if he is microchipped, and contact the owner if so.  They were very kind.   He was a lovely cat, grey and white.  He must have died very quickly.  So sorry to be the bearer of bad news 😞 The vet is Medivet in Beckenham, tel: 0208 650 2003.
