Female participants needed for research at King's College London (?20 reimbursement)

Recommended Posts

We are looking for women aged 18-25 years old who have never been diagnosed with a psychiatric or neurological disorder to take part in a study developing new tasks to assess social-emotional processing.

Study description:

The aim of the research is to develop and test a set of new social-emotional processing tasks. Social-emotional difficulties have been postulated to play a key role in the development and progression of many psychiatric disorders including anorexia nervosa. However, there is a relative paucity of naturalistic paradigms that could be used to assess these difficulties. This study aims to address this gap by developing two new tasks assessing different aspects of social-emotional processing.

What is involved?

The study consists of:

1. A screening phone call, which involves establishing whether you are eligible to take part.

2. One experimental visit, which involves filling in some questionnaires and completing two computerised tasks.

The first computerised task involves watching some brief video clips depicting various social scenarios and then you will be asked to what you think happened in each clip and what you think might happen next. During the second computerised task you will be asked to watch brief video clips depicting various social scenarios and rate how you felt watching each clip. You will be filmed during this task.

How long will the study take to complete?
