As it says really, we are flying with Easyjet and I know that we get priority boarding as we have a child but not sure whether it is worth upgrading to speedy boarding to be amongst the very first people on the plane? Any advice from seasoned travellers? Is it worth trying to get the seats at the front??

I paid for speedy boarding once. I got to the gate where there was a large crowd and I attempted to make my way through it. I told the person in front of me that I had speedy boarding and I waved my ticket at them. In response the person turned around and waved their speedy boarding pass at me, along with ten other people who informed me that everyone in the crowd had speedy boarding, which was nearly everyone on the flight. There is no limit to how many can purchase SB on a flight.

I think that if your child is under 5 they let you on first anyway.

Having recently travelled with EasyJet (last month) they call Speedy Boarding then Senior Citizens and Families with children under 5.

Our outbound flight was fairly civilised and people made a path to allow us through BUT the return flight was not without

comment..."So this lot have pushed in".

Let's just say I left her red faced and embarrassed especially as she had barged her way to the front!

Agree with Belle EasyJet better/nicer than RyanAir. Good Luck!

I agree that its not worth it. Just make sure you are at the gate early and get in the queue, but make sure you are in the right one as they have different ones for normal/ speedy boarding and if you get in the wrong one they send you to the back! As long as you get on in the first crowd of non-speedy boarders you will get seats together.

    • I know one of the Peckham Rye Egyptian geese sadly lost its mate a few years ago. There now seems to be a pair with goslings from two different hatchings. But, there is a solitary Greylag goose, did this ever have a mate? Also, do the Canada geese ever have offspring? I have not seen any this year?
    • At least there were still two adult geese  with them. Hopefully they reached somewhere green and safe. Well done to the people who stopped the traffic for them to cross!  I recently read a very sad story of a similar goose family where one of the parents had been run over by a car, and the other goose and the goslings were standing at the side of the road wailing 😭
    • Walking in the park today I was struck by how much bigger the footprint of the event looks and how that will impact the park. I guess it is only when you see it all being cordoned off that you realise. It feels like all the playing fields will be impacted to some extent. There is another area  being cordoned off at the other end of the park, close to Harris Girls. Does anyone know if this is temporary and to do with the event delivery juggernauts (so green, so environmentally friendly) or something unrelated?
    • Thank you, I’ve sent you a pm.
