I personally am neither for or against the "oldest profession in the world". If a woman wants to make money from her body, and a man is willing to pay for the privilege, what's the problem? I know this may offend some sensibilities and that prostitution flies in the face of most religions, but I can think of many, many, more worse things in life.

" think the mum joke went out about 3 years ago. Not difficult to do the research, been on Kilroy boasting, been on Soho Stories, been on British sex, please feel free to check up on the internet, wasn't that hard to find it all, go on prove me wrong then if I'm talking Crap, and thats even before mentioning the newspapers!"

Gosh gettin all a bit high and mighty arent we! Maybe she had to do it all for her kids to make ends meet. Do you think it would be better if chav stayed indoors beatin herself up about how life's twists and turns panned out for her? Chav has beaten all the odds to get where she is havin got a degree etc and if she was a hooker in her past then is she not the person best qualified to debate on it? I cant say my views are particularly original or insightful so am not going to have an open debate about it, therefore I think chav is certainly better placed to do it than me for example.

Good luck chav, hope it goes well. When does it air?

Well didn't anyone else see it then? Too much speaking at once and you could hardly hear what was going on, I don't think the presenter had good control over the audience, but I think I would have liked to have seen a more balanced audience, and a much stronger presenter

I was too nervous to talk as well as I'd wanted to, but the talking over eachother didn't help.

Bindels mike seemed to be up loud most of the time though so more of what she said than the others was heard, plus I think she is used to pushing her bitesize points without worrying about explanations or if they are actually true.

I'll try to do better next time!

Just remember rather keep your council and let your actions speak than get sucked into their game of blabbing out ?important points? for emotive effect but that have no substance. The people who actually think about what goes on in this world will notice.
I think you did really well though, and managed to get a lot across, and I thought the woman behind you, (sorry can't remember her name, was it Nikki or something?), she was the really attractive and softly spoken woman, she came across really well, and managed to, even though she was drowned out by motor mouth sitting in the front row who kept interupting her, get her point across well too.
Thanks, yes that was Nikki Adams from the English Collective of Prostitutes. She is very good, stays calm despite provocation (not my forte!). Bindel is notorious for shouting people down and I'm glad we managed to get a few important points accross.
It was certainly lively and I thought Ms Bindel came across rather blinkered. She was certainly on the losing end of this debate and well done CWALD I thought you did yourself proud and the lady behind you (Nikki Adams) was excellent too especially for not rising to the shouting match that erupted and being able to continue to put her voice across clearly and calmly.

    • Thank you, Pugwash. That's really useful information. Do you know who was responsible for the locks and keys, or which council department? Could you PM me if you don't want to put someone's personal details on here?  It may save me having to speak to Monica. Thanks.
    • Does anybody know why? Trees aren't cut down for no reason. There must have been something wrong with it (I hope that was the reason). A child was recently killed and another one injured when a tree fell in a park (not in this area). It isn't always obvious from the outside when a tree is diseased or whatever, and I imagine the council would give safety considerations priority when deciding what to do, if there was any doubt at all.
    • It looks like they have cut it down completely now 😭
    • Different people will be  involved within Thames Water. The people dealing with the leaks aren't the people encouraging less water usage. How many people have reported the Barry Road leak? By what channels? What response have they had? When we had a leak in our road which meant we had no water, several people reported it, there was good communication with TW, they explained why they couldn't come out immediately (other urgent jobs elsewhere in the area) , kept  in touch with us and fixed the leak within a reasonable timescale (hours). Someone from TW also contacted me later to make sure my water was back. But does Thames Water know about it? They aren't psychic (I presume). If nobody reports it, I also presume they won't even know the leaks are  there, unless they have some kind of central monitoring system which tells them when there are leaks in the system. To make it clear, I am not defending Thames Water as a company, which I think should never have been privatised.  But there are some things they can't be blamed for (old and disintegrating water pipe system in London) and some they can (possibly, lack of sufficient staff to deal with leaks, maybe due to trying to save money to give their shareholders more. But this is just surmise on my part - I know nothing about Thames Water).
