hpsaucey
There are still new wanted and offer posts going up on Southwark Freecycle. Surely not appropriate at the moment?I've emailed to ask why and what their policy is regarding COVID19HP Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/251549-freecycle-still-working-in-southwark-despite-current-crisis/ Share on other sites
hazwald
Hmm not sure I agree. For instance I'm desperate to get rid of an office desk chair, which someone else (eg who has been forced to work from home) might be equally desperate for. A no contact collection should easily be possible, which combined with a sufficient clean of the item afterwards would make this very low risk and in keeping with the spirit of the current guidelines. Bigbear
Hi Hazwald, I would be interesed in the chair. Does it have adjustable arms? JCBlumler
Yes agree. I have a 4 drawer filing cabling and a slim glass top desk that could be useful to someone setting up an office to work from home. Happy to disinfect and hand over at a safe distance.... IlonaM
Update from Southwark Freecycle this morning:'We would like to thank you for your understanding and being such caring members of Southwark freecycle. In line with some of the other freecycle/recycle groups we have decided to reopen our group but for now we will only allow posts where social distancing can be observed. We are saddened by the amount of items going to landfill but more so by the huge number losing their lives to this awful virus. To you all we say be careful and observe SOCIAL DISTANCING at all times.Thank youYour Moderating Team.' PnB
I've noticed a lot of people are just leaving things outside their house for people to take during this pandemic. Fair enough, if people want it enough, theyll take it. If not, leave it where it is.
