The carp in the pond on Peckham Rye

What has happened to the huge carp in the pond in the Japanese Garden in Pechham Rye Gardens? I've not seen it for weeks. Very upsetting!

Is that water even aerated ?

I'd assumed any fish in there would suffocate and die otherwise.

There?s definitely some pond life out there...

I haven't seen them recently, the main pond did have plenty of very large fish which weren't obvious unless you looked very closely & then they could be seen just below the surface. Also love to see the terrapins.

Where are the terrapins?

I dont think they are native, I heard somebody sometime ago mention terrapins

in the park,

also does anybody know where the farm house was located?

saw pictures online of house and barn, demolished 1908

Usually terrapins arrive in ponds because people buy them as pets when they are still very small, and don't realise how big they get.

Then they put them in a nearby pond ....

I take my daily walk through the park and always walk around the pond to spot the wildlife. Saw this little fella sitting on his own and took a quick snap.
