SBot
Hi, we took our ikea plastic one, was perfect. We could leave it out over night and if it rained!! Convex
Thanks all. We are going to try the phil and teds wriggle wrapper as it will hopefully come in handy on the flights we have coming up as well.Haven't been camping since he was small enough to fit in the bee cocoon... I'm hoping he sleeps ok! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25191-camping-with-baby-what-to-do-re-high-chair/#findComment-570687 Share on other sites

kirsun
Hiwhy spend the extra money, we always used the pushchair, except when in a restauant, where a hight chair is supplied. There is really no difference except the money you want to spend. Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/25191-camping-with-baby-what-to-do-re-high-chair/#findComment-570739 Share on other sites
Convex
Re bf, no we gave up a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the offer though.Re bumbo, he has always been able to get out of it unfortunately! We now strap him in to whatever chair/pram he is in.Re the pram, he can be a messy eater and I don't want to be constantly cleaning the pram. Though as I've bought something on eBay that's what we will be doing for this weekend anyway. Also as he has all his naps in the pram he would be in there a lot.... Is a good point re spending, I find I can spend a lot thinking I need a magic solution and then find out I could have done without it!Thanks For all the tips. Lousylu
Surely the whole point of camping is that you leave all such accoutrements behind? we've been camping loads of times with both ours and never used a high-chair once - we have a small folding toddler-sized camping chair (?5 from every good service station / Deacathalon) that we can plonk the youngest in with a tea-towel around the arms as a strap - or the safest, easiest is just sitting on the picnic rug with rest of us / clambering over laps as you mis-fire food in their general direction - if they're hungry they'll sit still long enough to get all they need down them ... Bumpkin
or just sit them on your lap or on your partners lap.. we never took highchairs camping. minder
Would second the sitting-on-lap method. Mother-in-law taught me this as the norm (and for nappy changing) and I did it with my own three teenagers when I didn't have the normal equipment to hand.
