Re bf, no we gave up a couple of weeks ago. Thanks for the offer though.

Re bumbo, he has always been able to get out of it unfortunately! We now strap him in to whatever chair/pram he is in.

Re the pram, he can be a messy eater and I don't want to be constantly cleaning the pram. Though as I've bought something on eBay that's what we will be doing for this weekend anyway.

Also as he has all his naps in the pram he would be in there a lot.... Is a good point re spending, I find I can spend a lot thinking I need a magic solution and then find out I could have done without it!

Thanks For all the tips.

Surely the whole point of camping is that you leave all such accoutrements behind? we've been camping loads of times with both ours and never used a high-chair once - we have a small folding toddler-sized camping chair (?5 from every good service station / Deacathalon) that we can plonk the youngest in with a tea-towel around the arms as a strap - or the safest, easiest is just sitting on the picnic rug with rest of us / clambering over laps as you mis-fire food in their general direction - if they're hungry they'll sit still long enough to get all they need down them ...

    • Most of the groceries shops in Lordship Lane have a security presence…curious thing is I and another woman recently saw a shop lifter lift and not pay for a couple of packet of steaks, veg and bottle of wine..  Literally walked Pat the tills, one member of staff and security guard despite someone else going in front by a few people and mentioning person in question! I have to say, speechless and admired their bravado - I would not have the guts and knowing my luck, if I accidentally didn’t put something tru the till despite receipt would prob get stopped! Yes, worked with families, homeless and other people who were struggling for food so I do understand why they do it.. sad when you think about it, that in this day and age, all sorts of c people need assistance and help from community in general, food banks, olio etc….
